Traditional Cherry Clafoutis
Discover the deliciousness of Traditional Cherry Clafoutis, a classic French dessert made with pitted cherries, a light batter, and a hint of vanilla. Perfect for summer gatherings!
Ingredients:
500 gr pitted cherries
100 gr all purpose flour (can be substituted with almond flour)
40 gr cornstarch
125 gr unsalted butter, room temperature
2 large eggs
2 cups of milk
100 gr sugar
1 pinch of sea salt
1 tsp vanilla
Confectionery suggar (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 390°F
In a bowl, mix flour and cornstarch. Make a well in the center and add the sugar, vanilla, eggs, and butter.
Beat until a dough forms. Gradually add the milk while stirring constantly.
Grease a 28 cm diameter pan with a little butter and arrange the cherries covering the bottom.
Pour the batter carefully over the cherries. Dot the top with a few pieces of butter.
Reduce the oven temperature to 350° and bake for 30 minutes.
Let the clafoutis cool completely and dust with confectionery sugar before serving.
